Bang a lime! Start a band! Plan a tour!

You have to sing that headline to the tune of T. Rex's "Bang a Gong" for it to make sense. Even still, though, it's pretty senseless. Except that it leads us to Bang Lime, a new project from Metric's Joshua Winstead and Joules Scott-Key. The duo is slated to release its debut album, Best Friends in Love, August 14 via Last Gang Records. Winstead and Scott-Key (any relation to Francis?) received engineering help on the album from their pal Drew Malamud, who has also worked with Stars and the Dears. Bang Lime will tour North America in support of Best Friends around the time of the album's release. Read on after the jump for those dates...

And other members of the band have branched out with a new side project they’re calling Bang Lime. [...]
