A painful divorce, battles with drugs and seemingly never-ending recording sessions for her new album are all part of the job for Amy Winehouse. Her face is rarely out of the tabloid newspapers, and rumors that the singer has cleaned up her act are sure to dismay the paparazzi photographers who hound her every move.
Now, Winehouse’s brother, Alex, has suggested that her tumultuous life would make perfect material for a musical. Just as she seems set to put her problems behind her, one of her own family members wants to regurgitate all the pain and suffering on the stage, which would be a bizarre turn in her highly unusual career.
"Amy is much better,” Alex told the Sun newspaper. “I think one day there could be a musical of Amy's life. You just don't ever know how far things can go these days." Alex believes the musical would show a brighter side to Winehouse’s existence ("She was a really happy kid,” he said), although that part of her life is unlikely to sell many tickets.
