Axl Straps On Helmet
Word comes via Punknews that Helmet has assumed the opening slot on the remaining Guns N' Roses dates during their tour. You'll recall that Axl Rose publicly called out former opener Eagles of Death Metal after EoDM was soundly booed during its set in Cleveland on November 24 and subsequently booted from the tour.
Any predictions on how the ever-witty Rose will belittle his new openers if things turn sour? Shitmet? Helshit? Hellishmet? Smellmet?
Remaining dates and further EoDM fallout after the jump:
Elsewhere, Guns N' Roses bassist Tommy Stinson disputes that he threw his bass down on-stage after Rose referred to EoDM (who Stinson recommended for the opening slot) as the "Pigeons of Shit Metal." PoSM frontman Jesse Hughes had alleged the bass-chucking had occured, but Stinson told MTV that while he has, in the past, thrown a bass a time or two, he has never done so in the vicinity of Axl Rose. This seems to be the best we've got these days for rock 'n' roll scandals.
