Axl Rose’s name was booed on Saturday during the induction of Guns N’ Roses at the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. The singer went public just prior to the event, expressing his feelings on why he wouldn’t be attending. Now, Rose has posted another note about the ceremony, which can be read in full at the band’s Facebook page.
Surprisingly, it’s a (mostly) upbeat piece of writing, with Rose claiming it was posted “in an effort to be positive.” He pays tributes to Guns N’ Roses fans, he says he took note of press reports about his withdrawal, he claims to not even really know what the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame is all about.
The best part is his apology to Cleveland, Ohio, as told through a story about an encounter Rose had with a homeless person. “I once bought a homeless woman a slice of pizza who yelled at me she wanted soup,” Rose writes. ”We got her the soup. You can get your own."
