Au Revoir Simone's New Interactive Video for "Knight of Wands"

In past videos, the dewy-eyed, spooky-ethereal indie waifs of Au Revoir Simone can usually be seen doing things like sewing, baking cookies, blowing up balloons, and stalking dreamily through sun-washed glades, their floral prints billowing, in search of rocks & feathers.

Perhaps the Brooklyn-based trio has finally gotten tired of doing all the arts & crafts themselves: their just-premiered video for “Knight of Wands” is a flash-powered, fully interactive virtual coloring book, with soundtrack provided by an organ-playing ghost and the girls’ gleaming, reedy voices in otherworldly harmony.

This fun little project, directed by Eli Stonberg, is already drawing comparisons to Arcade Fire’s recent buzz-generating video for "We Used To Wait": “The Wilderness Downtown”. Is this kind of interactive online experience the future of the music video?

"Knight of Wands" appeared on Au Revoir Simone's 2009 release Still Night, Still Light, on Moshi Moshi Records. [Mashable]
