Au Revoir Simone, Sally Shapiro, My Brightest Diamond, and others contribute to Christmas compilation for charity

Can we call it the "Do They Know It’s Christmas" mentality" that fills artists with holiday goodwill and compels them to jump onto charity compilation albums/songs like metal shavings to a magnet? Whatever it is, it’s produced another collaborative effort, I’ll Stay Til’ After Christmas, featuring work from Au Revoir Simone, My Brightest Diamond, Sally Shapiro, Blitzen Trapper, Figurine, Parenthetical Girls, Le Loup, Au, Papercuts, Arthur & Yu, No Kids, Radar Bros., Man of Arms, Turk Dietrich, and Bosque Brown.

The disc’s compiler, Daniel Gill, has been sending mix CDs to his friends and family each Christmas for years, and just recently decided to capitalize on this particular gesture of goodwill. According to the press release, the compilation purposely tries to show the emotional variation that occurs during the holidays for many, and provide some measure of relief to the saccharine pop that dogs us all during the holiday season. All proceeds from the album will go to Amnesty International.
