Atomic Tom Prove That, Given Adequate Speakers, iPhones Can Replace Real Instruments

Recently, Brooklyn band Atomic Tom apparently had their gear stolen. Instead of quitting, or waiting for their police to find their instruments before they started playing live again, the group instead took to their iPhones. In the above video, they use their Apple phones to actually replace their physical instruments, playing their song “Take Me Out” to a entire New York subway car full of people. It’s not the first all-iPhone performance that’s been documented, but it’s probably the first instance of a touring rock and roll band doing it. Now it’s only a matter of time before Radiohead records a concept album about iPhones that’s recorded entirely on iPhones. Somewhere, Steve Jobs is cackling madly. [Mashable]
