Bradford Cox’s Atlas Sound album is one of the surprise highlights of 2008, and he’s still out on tour promoting the record. Cox’s relentless schedule took him to the Pitchfork Festival at the weekend, where he performed solo, jammed with Spoon, and played an impromptu set with King Khan and Jay Reatard. He also has dates coming up with Deerhunter, a few Atlas Sound headline shows, and a just-announced support slot with Stereolab.
Is Cox now the busiest man in indie-rock? He’ll certainly be on the road for the foreseeable future, as Deerhunter is releasing its new album, Microcastle, on October 28. The Atlas Sound tour with Cox’s idols Stereolab begins on September 20 in Costa Mesa, California, while Deerhunter’s tour with Nine Inch Nails begins on August 5 in Toronto, Ontario. Meanwhile, New Yorkers have two chances to see Cox in action in the next few weeks. Atlas Sound plays a free show at South Street Seaport this Friday, and Deerhunter playsat McCarren Park Pool on August 3. Full Tour Dates below. [Pitchfork]

Somehow, I was able to miss all three of his Pitchfork appearances last weekend :( although, to be fair, I guess two of them weren't announced
