Artic Monkeys Rumored To Be Playing Olympics Opening Ceremony Tonight

There's a rumor swirling around that The Artic Monkeys might be playing the London 2012 Olympics opening ceremonies. According to a leaked document from last month, the boys were all set to be featured in the ceremonies alone with Muse, Happy Mondays, MIA and Adele.

Can we all just pause for a second and think about who came up with the idea to include MIA after her Super Bowl debacle.

Continuing with the Artic Monkeys' rumor, the representatives for the band neither confirmed or deny the reports.

The opening ceremonies will take place today. Paul McCartney has already announced he will be performing. The ceremony will be staged by Danny Boyle, director of Slumdog Milionaire and Trainspotting. [NME]
