Video: Armor for Sleep ''"Williamsburg''"
In support of their Sire release Smile For Them, Armor for Sleep has a new video sure to garner a few giggles on the L Train to Brooklyn. ''"Williamsburg''" features the band hijacking the PA system of a public school where the kiddies are taught the fine art of ''"Hipster 101.''" Complete with skinny jeans, beat-up Converse, and styled facial hair the students end up perfect replicas of the denizens of the hipster enclave. While the anti-hipster message is pretty ironic based on its source, it'''s still fun to join in the pointing and laughing.

Oh, I live here too Melissa, and there are plenty of annoying things about it (and even some great things), but I'll be goddamned if I'll take a chiding on being image conscious from motherfuckin' Armor to Sleep. Where do those guys live? In bunk beds at a Hot Topic in a Paramus mall? |

Based on the song and video, it just doesn't seem like they have any basis for what they're saying. It almost feels like their not in the club, so to speak - not the hipster club, but the general good-music club. They're fighting the fight from the outside -- they could have written a song putting down rap fans for acting like gangstas and it'd feel the same way. It's just out of place. |
Where to start...1) Williamsburg is not a city, but a neighborhood in a borough of a city2) There are not millions of trains underground, and the rats do not eat my food3) This is a terrible song, and may in fact be the anti Williamsburg backlash's jump the shark moment4) Hipsters are annoying, we are all hipsters, we are all annoying, the beat goes on. 5) There are no winners here
