Arctic Monkeys Prep New Album

It’s only been five years since Arctic Monkeys took over the U.K. with their iconic debut Whatever People Say I Am, That’s What I’m Not. Since then the Sheffield quartet have released a couple of albums, DVDs and EPs – all while appearing more and more like the only group from the whole UK-indie explosion of the mid 2000s built to last.

They’re returning in 2011 with their fourth LP, and are in a Los Angeles studio right now with producer James Ford. Ford produced the band’s second record Favourite Worst Nightmare as well as a number of notable British albums over the last few years, including Klaxons’ Myths of the Near Future and Florence And The Machine’s Lungs. The band hopes to have the album out sometime this spring, and given their current west coast location, maybe we’ll see a spot for them at this year’s Coachella. [NME]
