Arcade Fire's 'The Suburbs' Streaming In Full At NPR

The new Arcade Fire album The Suburbs is generating great reviews ahead of its official release tomorrow (Aug. 3), but there’s no need for anxious fans to wait to hear it. A full stream of the record is currently up at NPR, which may stop people from downloading leaked copies of the album, and perhaps even help it gain that coveted number 1 slot on the Billboard chart next week.

Win Butler says he gained inspiration for the album after receiving a letter from an old school friend in Texas. "He sent us a picture of him with his daughter on his shoulders at the mall around the corner from where we lived," he said. "And the combination of seeing this familiar place and seeing my friend with his child brought back a lot of feeling from that time. I found myself trying to remember the town that we grew up in and trying to retrace as much as I could remember."
