Arcade Fire schedules SNL appearance

Via: Pitchfork
Although Saturday Night Live can't be counted on to bring the laughs too often these days, it's nice to know that we can at least rely on the venerable sketch-comedy show for some hot indie-rock action. Following the Shins' performance earlier this year, the Arcade Fire is set to grace the SNL stage February 24, when Rainn Wilson (of the Office) hosts. Does this mean the Arcade Fire is gonna shift 100K copies of Neon Bible the first week? Stay tuned.
In the meantime, you might want to start figuring out now how you're gonna score tickets to see the band during its upcoming tour.

um... best SNL lineup ever? That's gonna be awesome. And by the way, SNL can still be really funny, especially in the last half hour. Anyone see the sloths music video last week?

Yeah, I agree with Matt that the SNL bashing is overdone. Of course the show is hit and miss, but some of the hits--Dick in a Box, the Dakota Fanning show--have been pretty great lately. Exactly the type of show TIVO is perfect for.SNL is definitely showing some indie love lately, huh? This absolutely has to be the first Merge band ever on the show, no? What's next, a band from Kranky or Thrill Jockey or some crazy label like that?
