David Byrne recently revealed via his online journal that the Arcade Fire is quietly beginning work on a follow-up to 2007’s Neon Bible. The 973 members of the band dropped by Byrne’s Oct. 30 Montreal show and mentioned to him that they are in the early stages of putting together demos and gathering ideas for the next record. The band’s management has already confirmed the news but there’s little other information to be had. Obviously, this means that it’s far too early to start marking dates on your calendar but it’s good to know that something is probably on the way sooner than later. [Pitchfork]
