Arcade Fire Rumored to be Working with Spike Jonze

Spike Jonze is clearly a big fan of the Arcade Fire—the trailer for his Where the Wild Things Are memorably featured “Wake Up” by the band. But a rumor that surfaced on this Arcade Fire blog and was put into wider circulation at /Film, that the band was set to work with Jonze again, has been quashed by their publicist.

But a little digging by the excellent Playlist site suggests there may be a cover-up in place, although even they aren’t able to fully commit to the story just yet. “We've double checked and /Film's report according to sources up the food chain, appears to be on the money,” writes Kevin Jagernauth.

The band is already making a well-publicized comeback this summer, and a Spike Jonze helmed music video would make perfect sense as they reenter the music scene. But whether that’s going to occur, or if this is some other project, or maybe not even happening at all, remains open to speculation.
