Arcade Fire New Album Producer Revealed

Details surrounding the new Arcade Fire album are scarce; we only learned of its existence a little over a month ago, when The Box director Richard Kelly revealed that they were in the studio, a statement that violinist and string arranger Owen "Final Fantasy" Pallett seemingly corroborated. Now the producer of the project has been revealed.

 

In an interview with the BBC, Marcus Mumford, lead singer of indie folk act, Mumford and Sons, let slip that Markus Dravs, who also produced Mumford's debut, Sigh No More, is working in the studio with the Canadian indie rock superstars. "He’s been there for about six months," Mumford added. Dravs is known for his work on Bjork's groundbreaking '90's output, Coldplay's Viva La Vida, and...the Arcade Fire's Neon Bible. Big shocker. Band keeps same producer for next album.

 

The level of secrecy surrounding the project is the real story here. The lack of details surrounding Win Butler and company's third long player seems almost strategic. They must be trying to avoid the leak train, as recent offerings from Grizzly Bear and Animal Collective have leaked up to three months before their respective release dates. [BBC]

neon bible was good, but not even close to funeral, and the worst part of neon bible was the production, it was way over produced.
