Arcade Fire mix-up

Via: Spin
Heads are going to roll! Well, probabably not since the folks at Merge are nice people. Anyways, someone at the Merge camp put up the Arcade Fire track "Black Wave/Bad Vibrations" on iTunes yesterday instead of "Intervention." Not only was the wrong song put up, it was posted two days too soon as "Intervention" was scheduled for its release on Thursday (December 28). Although most people would classify this as a mistake, I expect this to be employed as a marketing technique by hip-hop artists in '07.
"'Intervention' was supposed to be uploaded to iTunes as a charity single benefiting Partners in Health, [but] someone at Merge uploaded the wrong song," the band's frontman Win Butler wrote in a blog post. "The song that people have downloaded from the U.S. side of iTunes is called 'Black Wave/Bad Vibrations,' and it is the next track on the record after 'Intervention'...The real 'Intervention' will be up soon."
