The National are currently undertaking a residency at the cavernous Brixton Academy in London, and the Arcade Fire’s Richard Reed Parry joined the band for a number of songs at their show last night (Nov. 30). Parry is in the city to perform with his other band later in the week.
According to this report on Gigwise, Parry helped flesh out “Anyone’s Ghost” and “Sorrow” by the group, and Matt Berninger even joked that the Arcade Fire were set to play a secret show in London later that night. "This is our friend Richie. He's got a little gig at the Barfly later tonight," Berninger said from the stage. Fortunately, it seems no one was fooled.
