Ruh roh. I'm starting to get worried about Neon Bible. First of all, the title is unoriginal--nipped from the lesser-known John Kennedy Toole novel, is it not? I haven't been impressed with "Intervention," all empty organ bombast. And now here's "Black Mirror," which sounds a lot like some of the more boring tracks off Funeral--"Neighborhood #1" or "Une Anee Sans Lumiere," say. Yet again, its over-orchestrated. And Win Butler doesn't seem to have anything interesting to say, toward the end of the track actually reverting to the dreadfully expected "mirror, mirror on the wall chant." Let's hope this doesn't spell sophomore slump.Listen to the "Black Mirror" here.

Yikes. 2 unimpressive tracks in a row. Not that we should expect a retread of Funeral but we are fair in expecting more than this...
