Arcade Fire "Black Mirror" (Video)

The few lines that Win Butler sings in French aren't the only things Gallic in this clip for Arcade Fire's "Black Mirror." The entire video looks like a fine piece of French surrealist filmmaking from the middle of last century. It's a nautical-themed video not unlike the one for Modest Mouse's "Dashboard," except it's in black and white and no one is sporting appendages made out of musical equipment. A protagonist who looks a lot like Lance Armstrong, and is clutching a jug of mystery potion, enters the oversized head of an old man, where he's suddenly swarmed by a tribe of triangle people. From there it's . . . ummm . . . some odd synchronized dancing? Just give the video a gander yourself and see if you can make any more coherent sense out of it.
