It's been almost five years since The Apples In Stereo last dropped some saccharine psychedelia on us, and I'd be lying if I said I didn't think they were through for awhile there. The time off doesn't seem to have had any negative consequences, as the band sounds tight as ever. "Same Old Drag" is three minutes of blissed-out, cotton candy pop, with more layers to it than an onion. Could 2007 be the year of the Elephant Six revival?
