The boys from Animal Collective sure know how to tease us. The band's new album  Merriweather Post Pavillion is due out in January, and it looks like it's going to be an agonizing crawl, packed full of teasers, until the release date. First came the somewhat impenetrable website. Then came the tracklisting. Then came the listening party. Now the band has announced a January tour, which includes only three North American dates.

The first date on the tour, in New York City, is on the same day as the album's scheduled North American release. They're preceding it with a whistle stop tour of Europe, and surely more dates in support of Merriweather will be added in the near future. Impatient fans may want to fill the gap with this Panda Bear remix of the Notwist's "Boneless," but here's how those dates are looking so far:
