Animal Collective give away free mix CD with Merriweather Post Pavilion

The U.K. has really embraced Animal Collective’s new album, Merriweather Post Pavilion. According to a new chart published by the Quietus, which compiles sales from prominent independent music stores in Britain, the album is the third best-selling record of the week. And that’s based on vinyl sales alone, as the CD hasn’t been released there yet.

Anyone pre-ordering the album from Rough Trade in the U.K. is also in for a treat. The band has compiled a limited edition eight-song mix CD to accompany the record. Among the highlights are a track from major dubstep star Kode 9 and a cut from Erykah Badu’s excellent ’08 album New Amerykah, Pt. 1: 4th World War.
