Animal Collective Announce California Shows

Before heading off to their very own ATP in the U.K. this May, Animal Collective will be playing some April shows in California (see the dates below.) If you're one of the nearly 18 million people that reside in the Greater Los Angeles Area, prepare to be disappointed; however, if you're one of the estimated 1000 people that make up the population of Big Sur, California, you're going to be pretty psyched! 

Turns out the world's friendliest psych-pop band have scheduled four of their five California (and U.S., for that matter) shows in the northern part of the state, though they are playing down south for Coachella. Some European dates follow.

Deakin is reported to be back touring with Animal Collective. Pitchfork says the band will play "a new set" this tour, so hopefully that means they'll continue their tradition of playing unreleased material (Panda Bear did just mention that new album in the works).
