Anika Plots U.S. DJ Dates

Anika’s eponymously titled album on the Invada label last year demonstrated her impressively singular vision of pop. Geoff Barrow from Portishead helped co-write that record and the guys from Beak> work as her live band, although Anika has mapped out her own distinctive musical space to operate in that hopefully won't be overshadowed by her more famous collaborators.

Now comes news of some DJ dates by the singer, which will apparently be a precursor to some Beak> backed full live shows at some point in the spring [via XLR8R]. Perhaps Anika will make it to Portishead's I’ll Be Your Mirror event in New Jersey this fall as well? Watch this space for news on that.
