The rumors about new material from Outkast continue to rumble on, albeit with no official release date in sight. There has even been
that they may release three new albums in 2009. In the meantime, singer Andre Benjamin, a.k.a. Andre 3000, has been arrested in Atlanta after being caught driving at 109mph.
According to reports, Benjamin claimed he had missed a slipway and was trying to turn around on Interstate 75. Henry County Police Captain Jason Bolton claims that he was “an accident waiting to happen” while traveling at that speed. "Traveling that fast along 75, you’re passing people as if they’re standing still," he said.
Benjamin has apparently been released on $1,200 bail and now awaits a court date on April 29. It’s been three years since
, and this latest incident isn’t likely to hasten the release of a new Outkast album, although Big Boi’s solo record,
Sir Lucious Left Foot: The Son of Chico Dusty
, is allegedly close to surfacing. [
