As the old adage goes, “Everything is bigger in Texas.”
The “Long Star State” may host the biggest MMA fight on the planet – Anderson Silva vs Georges St-Pierre – sometime in early-2013, according to UFC President Dana White.
In an interview with Ariel Helwani on Fuel TV’s “UFC Tonight”, White said “If that fight happens, it will probably happen at Dallas, TX stadium.”
If the UFC does hold “Silva vs St-Pierre” at Cowboys Stadium, it’s likely that the promotion will break its all-time attendance record.
The current gate record is 55,724, set on Apr. 30, 2011, for UFC 129 in Toronto.
Cowboys Stadium has a capacity of over 80,000, and Silva and St-Pierre are arguably the top two pound-for-pound fighters in the world.
St-Pierre is slated to fight Carlos Condit at UFC 154 in November in Montreal, while Silva appears content to wait on the sidelines until the Canadian is ready to square off against him.
