Spinner has broken ranks in a big way with its list of the albums of the decade: its become the first publication (as far as I can tell) to name Amy Winehouse's Back to Black as the best album of the decade. You have to give Spinner credit on that one, but its got some ughs in the top ten (namely the Boss (who hasn't made a decent album in 25 years) and Tegan and Sara (who are pleasant, but not decade defining)).
The rest of Spinner's list is pretty clear cut (burying The Blueprint while keeping College Dropout at number two lets you know what kind of hip-hop the folks at Spinner prefer). Go here to check it. The top ten is below:
10. OutKastStankonia
9. Bruce Springsteen Magic
8. PJ Harvey Stories From the City, Stories From the Sea
7. RadioheadKid A
6. Tegan and SaraThe Con
5. Arcade Fire The Funeral
4. Daft Punk Discovery
3. Wilco Yankee Hotel Foxtrot
2. Kanye West The College Dropout
1. Amy WinehouseBack to Black
Yeah, there's some questionable choices, but i'm glad to see Wino and Wilco get some shine.
The saving grace is PJ Harvey firmly inside the top ten - I'll agree with that. Killers and My Chemical Romance both made it in though - yowch!
