Sometimes, things happen in real life that are so ridiculously unbelievable that you basically have to adopt a willing suspension of disbelief and hope for the best. This is one of those times. Because Amy Winehouse is launching a line of wrapping paper and gift cards. In collaboration with EMI. Yeah -- I couldn't believe I didn't have this idea first, either!:
"We are looking to create innovative revenue streams from our songs with mainstream retailers and the Amy wrapping paper and gift cards received a very positive response," said Jonathan Channon, Vice President of EMI Publishing Europe, in an interview with Contact Music.
The wrapping paper and gift cards will be printed with lyrics from songs on Back to Black, because your parents love it when you give them Xmas presents adorned with words like "rehab" and "fuckery." At least mine do, anyway. [Contact Music]

Gosh, what happened to her much-publicized fashion line? And that recording studio she planned to start 'way back, to help her 'goddaughter's' career? And her plans to roll up her sleeves and personally help poor kids (though she can't do day-to-day tasks)?
Clearly, her handlers are desperately trying to keep her 'brand' alive though she doesn't make music anymore. And-or they're trying to cash in before she totally fades.
