Amy Winehouse – great singer, not-so-great multitasker – has been known to be easily distracted, but just six months after announcing her new fashion line, the singer has made good by launching her new collection. The 17-piece, timely apparel and accessories line is a collaboration with Fred Perry – a match pretty much made in ‘50s waitress/’60s mod heaven – and features a series of looks that essentially split the difference between Winehouse’s trademark retro style and Fred Perry’s working class British roots. The singer models the line in a series of just-released photos in which, it should be noted, she looks pretty great. Lest you mistake her for a fashion plate – not a big concern for a while there, but a possibility in light of the new photos – Winehouse offered this self-effacing dismissal in an interview with Harper’s Bazaar:
“I just dress like…I’m an old Jewish black man. I just dress like it’s still the ’50s.”
MMmmm…okay.
