Amy, Amy, Amy. Trouble just seems to follow you, girl, I swear. And now you have to call a locksmith and those guys are wicked expensive with their hidden "emergency call charges." Wielding crowbars and a battering ram, cops busted down the door to Winehouse's home last night only to find no one was home. But it wasn't Winehouse that the police were looking for; it was her husband, Blake Fielder-Civil, who was the target of this operation. And cops caught up with him outside a flat in East London and arrested his ass. According to Reuters, he's was charged with suspicion of "perverting the course of justice," which to you and me is basically witness tampering.
Before the arrest, Fielder-Civil was just days away from a trial on a charge that he beat the piss out of a bartender (left him with a metal plate in his face), which the English officially call commiting grievous bodily harm. Don't you just love how they name criminal offenses? They make even an ass kicking seem dignified. The best/worst part: Both charges carry the possibility of a life sentence. Ouch. According to the Daily Mirror, the bartender, James King, was allegedly offered £200,000 to drop the GBH charge.
The Mirror also reports that Winehouse was with Fielder-Civil and kissed him as he was taken into custody. Standing by her man, she shouted ''"Baby, I love you" as officers whisked him away. He's set to go on trial Monday for the bartender beatdown charge. Besides that and an arrest for weed possession last month in Norway for both Winehouse and her hubby, things seem to be going along swimmingly for this generation's Sid and Nancy.
