Mitch Winehouse, father to the late Amy Winehouse, has used "spiritualists" to contact his daughter. In an interview with The Independent, he revealed that psychic mediums have "given [him] great proof that Amy is still there."
"Some of the messages we've been given have been incredible – only things I would know, nothing they could have got from the internet," he said. "I sat with a top psychic in America – I can't remember his name. The FBI uses him on cold cases to help find missing bodies. The first thing he said to me was, 'This is Amy: "Dad, there is a life after death'." However, he conceded some skepticism. "I don't want people to think I'm a deluded fool," he state.
In the same interview, Winehouse slammed the British government's drug treatment programs, stating that "if you're an addict, you're left to die." He claims he spent upwards of £1 million ($1.5 million) on her treatment, and now he's set up the Amy Winehouse Foundation to help young people with similar problems. One year removed from his daughter's death, Winehouse is still struggling with grief. "I wish it had been me who died and not my daughter," he told The Independent.
