Amerie to Drop In Love & War in August

Amerie’s always been a more aesthetically slippery singer than most, as far as R&B goes. Maybe that’s why she recently left Columbia Records to sign with Island Def Jam, who’ll release her fourth studio album, In Love & War, in August.

Producers who worked on In Love & War include The Buchanans, who earned credits for Amerie’s first single “Why R U,” Teddy Riley, Sean Garrett and Eric Hudson, Jim Johnson and Rico Love, and Brian Cox. “Why R U” is streaming at Amerie’s Myspace page right now, and a video for the track premieres on B.E.T. tomorrow, if you’re willing to watch B.E.T.
