'American Idol' To Allow Facebook Voting

The first round of general public voting on this season of American Idol starts next week, and the producers have announced another shakeup: They're set to allow Facebook voting. Facebook users will be able to vote up to 50 times for whichever mediocre singer they favor in each voting period. This decision is a boon for Facebook, but it's just as likely it was set up in order to pad voting because fewer people are watching the show this season. [EW]
