It's been rumored for a minute or twenty, but Amazon has finally unveiled their MP3 store, touting DRM-free tracks with the ability to be played on any player out there. "Most" tracks are priced from 89 to 99 cents, with the majority of albums price from $5.99 to $9.99, with the most popular songs and albums available at bargain rates. All tracks are encoded at high quality 256Kbps. Now that Apple is contending with uppity record labels, it will be interesting to see how this development affects the iTunes lockdown approach.Sorry, Fifty - Kanye beats you on Amazon's list as well, at least so far as their "Top MP3 Artists" go. iTunes Nano video showcase Feist clocks in at 1,2,3,4th (apologies) on the top songs list, with "Rehab" somehow still at the top? I guess every car wreck needs a soundtrack.
