Almost Two Years After Anyone Would Care, Lupe Fiasco Confirms He Is In Japanese Cartoon
Because he is still at a stand-still with Atlantic Records over the long-delayed Lasers album--and because he already apparently recorded the follow-up, Food & Liquor II, which is also shelved--Lupe Fiasco has recorded a full album as Japanese Cartoon, his punk-ish side project that he has denied being a part of since at least early 2009. Lupe is giving the album away for free at the band's website, so go ahed and get it, Lupe Stans. I'm betting you'll say it's great, ignoring that hearing Lupe sing in a fake British accent isn't exactly the way he should be heard. Ever.

For the record, he dropped the British accent thing, but he said he wouldn't re-record the songs that had it, so we're gonna hear him normally now. I don't remember which song he has now that doesn't have the accent, but future JC releases won't have an accent.
