They were a band that was pretty huge in Canada, but never really broke through to the U.S. in the way some of their peers did, but now Alexisonfire won't have the chance: The Juno-winning Canadian band are calling it quits. The band, which consistently hit near the top of the Canadian charts, but were beefing because one of their members, Dallas Green, was more popular in his solo project City and Colour. The band has posted a pretty forthcoming message about the breakup on their website, which you can read right here. Here's a sampling:
"There is no good way to put it so I'm just going to say it," he wrote. "After 10 years, Alexisonfire has decided to part ways. ... Was the break up amicable? Not really. Was it necessary? Probably."
"Trying to balance his life between touring with us and, at the same time, quelling the success of City and Colour was a task too difficult to continue managing,"
