Contest: Predict the album sales of Tha Carter III

The most anticipated hip-hop album of 2008 was officially released today. How many albums will Lil Wayne's Tha Carter 3 sell in its debut week? The highest debut this year is Mariah Carey's E=MC2, which sold a massive  463,000 albums. Will the early leak of the album by DJ Chuck T last week significantly hurt Lil' Wayne's album sales?

 

For this album sales contest, predict how many copies of Tha Carter III will sell this week. The prize is a $20 Amazon gift certificate and bragging rights for the week. Please note that only registered users will be in the running.

I downloaded a few tracks before the release (like everybody else), however, I bought it first thing this morning... This album will sell exactly 672,821 copies week 1...FOR THE RECORD: No album in the history of hip hop music will ever come close to "Tha Carter II". One of the best albums (any genre) of all time...

Lets keep the main thing the main thing and not major in minors...

To tell u the truth he has so much product out that people get confused with the mixtapes and the albums. He's over-rated and is not the best rapper alive. My verdict is less than 200,000. It'll take him a couple weeks to get certified gold.

Im from Gulfport, MS and at 10am Circuit City was packed and all of the Bonus Disks are sold out so from what I am seeing I say he does over a Mill. The Manager has never seen the store so packed for a cd release.

I downloaded this album when it was leaked, but it didnt stop me from buying it. This album is ver different from Tha Carter II, but it is still a classic. It is easily going tobe the #1 in album sales. I am going to say it's going to sell about 760,000 in it's first week. The leak wont hurt it.

Just Like Every1 else I've had a bulk of the album downloaded already but as a fan of the artist-i went out 2 best buy this morning and purchased all 3 of his albums just 2 support him! The lines were extremely long - everytime I looked back an employee was putting out a new box of Carter 3 CDs! Wayne sells! Despite the mixtapes that we all have and the album leak-Everyone's gonna buy the album just to see him shine!!! I SaY He'LL SaLe Close 2 a MiLLi... 1 of my Fave Tracks!

I downloaded the whole CD bootleg, but I still bought the actual one just to support the man. I think it'll sell around 950,000. It's a good album, but it's Wayne and you can tell he didn;t write, cuz he never does, lol. I wonder what he'd sound like if he wrote....but yea, 950,000 the 1st week. He'll go multi-platinum in the long run though.

Yeah, I mean it’s not the carter 2. Nevertheless, it is by far the best album to come out this year. In my opinion, this album was not made with the same traditional structure used in the carter and carter 2. It’s def outside the box. But I find that to be refreshing.
