Album of the Day: The Geraldine Fibbers

The Geraldine Fibbers - Lost Somewhere Between the Earth and My Home (1995)
It was nice to see Carla Bozulich's Evangelista on a few best of lists this year, not only because it's a solid record, but because Bozulich is well overdue for some national exposure. The country punk is best known in her hometown of Los Angeles for her legendary 90s group The Geraldine Fibbers, who are still one of the best bands I've ever seen live. Ten years later, their music seems somewhat stuck in time, though it still has the same power and quirkiness that made it so refreshing and exciting when it was released. As far as this style of genre-b(l)ending goes, this was a perfect rendition, and anyone who likes their Indie with a twang can't ignore this record.
