2006 Reissue WeekSound Dimension - Jamaica Soul Shake
Though it is not technically a "reissue" and more of a comp, it would be hard to talk about reissued music in 2006 and not talk about the spectacular Soul Jazz label. With releases that ranged from their great Tropicalia comp to their much-needed Tom Moulton Mix selections and almost literally everything in between, they are quickly becoming one of the most important labels around. This record was one of the greats, collecting the most notable cuts from one of the best groups to come out of Studio One in Jamaica. This is rocksteady, reggae before reggae, and it's dirty, happy, and fun music. Thank you Soul Jazz.
