Pharoahe Monch - Internal Affairs
Based on the couple leaked songs from Monch's upcoming "comeback," the former Organized Konfusion member has a good chance to match or even surpass the level of quality on Internal Affairs. That's saying a lot, as this solo debut managed to contradict itself consistently into brilliance. "Simon Says" is the most famous song from this Rawkus casualty ("Ladies rub on your titties"), but that's not to say it's the best song (though it's close). Both "The Light" and "The Truth," polar opposites of the lead single in both sound and content, are strong conscious hip hop songs, the latter with a great verse each from Common and Talib Kweli. Hopefully, this one won't be left in obscurity for long, as his new record should break any day now. But what do you think it will take to get Desire, his shelved record, released? Pharoahe, you got a "Crazy" in you?

Matt and/or Mike;Where would you place Organized Konfusion's 'Stress: The Extinction Agenda'?

This album got alot of burn in late 99, early 2000. Had alot of songs you could play out - "Rape" was one of my faves. Personally I think "Stress" is Top 25 All Time. So is "Breaking Atoms" for that matter...BTW

BTW

this album was actually taken out of print because they didnt clear the godzilla sample in simon says. i doubt this will reappear on the shelves anytime soon.
