The Jesus and Mary Chain - Psychocandy
One of the greatest rock records of the 80s, Psychocandy has spent a good portion of its life out of print, a tragedy that Rhino has thankfully put a stop to this year. Though their biggest influence is Velvet Underground, the record is just as much in debt to its decade, and consequently Psychocandy is filled with shimmering pop ballads drenched in reverb and booming drums. A brilliant record that deserves a much bigger audience than just its loyal indie following.
