Carla Bruni - Quelqu'un M'a Dit
Like Milla Jovovich before her, Carla Bruni made the move from international super model to singer-songwriter. Just as surprising, Bruni is as successful as Jovovich, if not moreso. This record, her debut and as of now only offering, is similarly acoustic and introspective. Though Bruni is Italian by birth, she moved to Paris when she was four, and the record is sung almost entirely in French. I'm not going to tell you I know what she's talking about, but it sure sounds pretty and soothing, and while Bruni doesn't break any real new ground here, for people who are partial to this kind of thing, Quelqu'um M'a Dit is a great find.
