Alan Braxe is responsible for some of the most ubiquitous crossover dance jams of the ‘90s and early 2000s. And, well, he was ejected from San Francisco’s DNA Lounge last weekend after apparently peeing on stage. There’s really no segue to make that work. The club posted this statement on their website explaining what happened.
“Turns out that our headlining DJ last night, Alan Braxe, has a bladder control problem. That's the generous explanation for why he decided, in the middle of his DJ set, to turn around and piss on our back-wall curtain instead of using the restroom which is twenty feet away.
After his set, when we had tossed him out, he was aghast that we chose not to let him back in. We said that we'd be happy to let him in if he paid us what it was going to cost to have the curtain cleaned. He declined. Also he threatened to sue us. "For what?" I inquired. "Because I wouldn't come out and talk to him," Barry tells me.
Well, good luck with that.”
Seriously, Alan Braxe is one of the last people you’d expect to pull some rockstar stuff like that. Braxe’s representative has returned with their own statement, saying that the allegations are false, and Alan did not, in fact, pee on any “curtain or wall.” The statement goes on to say that this is some sort of “personal attack” against Braxe, which would make it an oddly specific personal attack indeed. We’ll keep you posted as the story develops. [P4k]
