Akimbo Celebrate Ten Years of Destruction with Album, Tour

    See that hard-drinking trio of gentlemen in the picture? That’s Akimbo, the noisiest band in America named after a leg position (with Indian Style a distant second). One listen to any of Akimbo’s numerous destructive metalloid hardcore anthems and you’ll be surprised the band didn’t flame out before birthday one, let alone birthday ten. But it’s true – the Seattle threesome celebrates a decade together this year, and it’s planned quite a birthday season: nasty new album Jersey Shores comes out September 23rd on Neurot Recordings, and there’s a record release/anniversary show happening in Seattle on September 27th with Helms Alee and Harvestman, featuring Steve Von Till of Neurosis. Then Akimbo takes the show on the road for an eleven-date tour.
