Air Traffic to release debut album

    Get ready for some confusion. Astralwerks, the label that brings you albums from French duo Air, has now signed a band named Air Traffic. No, it’s not some Jean-Benoit Dunckel/Nicolas Godin spinoff. Air Traffic is a band made up of four lads from the far-off outpost of Bournemouth, Wessex, U.K. That remote location, with its total lack of any kind of rock scene, imbued Air Traffic leader Chris Wall and his bandmates with a sense of anything-is-possible expansiveness. Another element that influences the band’s music is Wall’s Celtic roots; his parents are both Irish, and an uncle is a popular folk singer in Cork. Air Traffic is set to release its debut album, Fractured Life, February 5th.
