Via: PitchforkFollowing in the footsteps of LCD Soundsystem, Aesop Rock has bowed down to the mighty dollar and contributed a track to Nike's Nike + Original Run series. All Day, available February 13 on iTunes for $9.99, is "a 45-minute continuous mix [that] was created specifically with runners in mind and reflects Aesop Rock's distinct and unique style," according to a press release. As for his motivation behind the piece, here's what he had to say: "I wanted to create something that evolved enough that the sound was constantly fresh and attractive, as if the runner were moving through a set of differing cities or landscapes."
If running isn't your thing, you can still look forward to new Aesop Rock material this year. His new album, None Shall Pass, will be out before the end of 2007. Production will be handled by El-P, Blockhead, Rob Sonic, and Aesop himself, with guest appearances from El-P, Cage, Camutao, Breeze Brewin, Rob Sonic, and John Darnielle of the Mountain Goats (?)
