Great news for the seven people who haven't already bought a physical or digital copy of Adele's 21: you can now stream it on Spotify. Apparently the album could have been licensed for streaming last year, but Adele's people wanted it to be available only to premium subscribers. The populists at Spotify said no -- they want to keep catalog availability similar for those who pay and those who don't, bless their souls.
Maybe more blockbuster acts will end up doing as Adele did and waiting longer to license their recordings to Spotify and other streaming services in the hopes of bigger sales. Then again, maybe people will pay for a record like 21 regardless of whether it was available for free. Either way, feel free to continue blasting "One and Only" and sobbing quietly to yourself.
