20-year-old singer/songwriter Adele, fresh off of receiving four Grammy nominations last week, is already working on her sophomore release to follow up 19, released earlier this year.
"There's about three, four songs I really like that will go on the next record," Adele told Billboard.com. "I've got another handfull that I hate and won't go anywhere near the second record. I'm kind of slowly getting back in the mode of it."
Apparently the new material has been influenced by records like the O' Brother Where Art Thou? soundtrack and Robert Plant and Allison Krauss's Raising Sand.
"Obviously I don't want to write a country record or a bluegrass record or anything like that," Adele said, "but the melodies, I think they're best in the world, so I'm going to cry and incorporate a lot of that."
The singer indicated that she plans to start recording the next record at the close of her next U.S. tour, which ends Jan. 31. [Billboard]
