For the 16th week since it was released in February 2011, Adele's 21 has topped the Billboard charts, selling over 100,000 copies, and topping the six million total sales mark. It's the 33rd week that 21 sold more than 100,000 copies, and its 46th week on the charts overall.
But that's not all: 21 is one of only five albums since Soundscan was invented in 1991 to top Billboard for 16 weeks. The other ones were: Titanic and Bodyguard soundtracks, Garth Brooks' Ropin' the Wind, and Billy Ray Cyrus' Some Gave All. That's right, Adele is in rarified air, now: She's among Garth Brooks and Billy Ray Cyrus as the only artists to top for 16 weeks. Crazy. [Billboard]
